:Work in Progress--The Bachelor:

A project in the works.

Dining Room--still in search of more accessories, but I adore the clean lines of the chairs and the wooden pedestal table.

Found artwork for the kitchen

The rug I found for the kitchen is much brighter than the artwork, though still in the same color scheme; it also echoes a similar geometric pattern found in the art. Love that.

The girls' bathroom (and bathroom rug at bottom)...they adore it so far! I'm tackling their bedroom next!

Artwork that has inspired my design of the living area

Pillows I found that I thought would complement the living room (the one on the right was my favorite option that I picked out though the bachelor was skeptical at first); however, he ended up liking both sets...the third option went back.

More accessories

Close-up

The most comfortable chairs everrrr....and they are slip-covered with matching ottomans! Pretty sexy, eh?

Aerial view of the living room (from the loft)

Bedding for the bachelor's sleeping quarters, which are still in need of some serious attention--he loves the comfy bedding, though!

:Work in Progress:

The client this home belongs to lives in an apartment, so there are a few limitations to what we can do and what she is comfortable doing. We're still not finished yet, but we are getting there slowly but surely. These photos indicate MAJOR progress. (sidebar: shoutout to HomeGoods for helping me accessorize this place!)

Proof that a little bit of rearranging and restyling goes a long way...the client and I both agreed that the chandelier was atrocious, so I found a creative way to shorten it; it was in the way of more important visual detailing. :-)

Showcasing memories

I love showcasing items in a decorative way. I purchased this apothecary jar (I love them!) recently, and decided to fill it with white sand. I dropped a red, glass paperweight into it to add color and placed one of my favorite photos from my childhood into it. It's of me and my favorite cousin, Jessica, who was more like a sister to me, clowning around. We were all smiles as usual!

My work

I have been spending quite a lot of time over at Soul Pretty recently and I am so inspired by her postings! I even partially credit her with getting me to COOK this week--yes, people...for the first time in a month or so--with this post. I'm so inspired that I'm posting some snapshots of my work in my own bedroom. I think I am going to paint it yellow--I've been checking out some colors by Benny Moore.

I'm in love with...ceramics

Over the course of the past eight weeks, I have been taking a pottery class. In this class, I have learned everything from "throwing", or creating, pottery using the wheel, trimming, and glazing. It is with pride that I present a few snapshots of my work, though some of the pieces didn't quite turn out as I expected...at the very least, I had to do some minor alterations...but I'm oh so proud! More to come later...(I did miss one class, so I have a makeup session to attend, and more pieces to collect and a few to finish.)

My newly painted bath/powder room

After I worked my magic

Before the spell was cast

Not officially a powder room, but gotta love the glamourous concept of a powder room. :-) My condo only has one full bath, so I figure I'm allowed to dream. I also included snapshots of the framed art/photos I hung--stills from the Dreamgirls film. I still have accessories on the way! Oh, and that top pic is Seany (my nickname for him) peeping out of my bath during painting, lol. And by the way, my paint choice was eggplant by Benjamin Moore.
