{Bendel Ambassador Soiree}

On November 6, I joined forces with Henri Bendel to kick off the holiday season at a party thrown in my honor. I have become quite a fan of the brand since first discovering them, so when my personal shopper--the MOST AMAZING Bendel associate ever, mind you--suggested they put on a soiree for me, how could I turn it down?!

Replete with a 25% discount on all merchandise my guests purchased, sips and sweets, a gift card and a giveaway of a brand new handbag, I was amped!

{Checking In. . . for the 2-0-1-5!}

Happy New Year, my loves!
~
I hope you all experienced the most beautiful of endings to your
respective 2014s and the most scintillating, delicious beginnings in 2015.
Both, for me, were stylish to say the very least.
I dressed to drop jaws in this little number I picked up from NY&CO
--and had tailored to my specifications--
to ring in what I know is going to be one of the greatest years of my life!

{Vintage Gucci Glamour}

When I die, bury me inside the Gucci sto'!
~
I love, love, LUUUURVES me some vintage Gucci. I must confess; collecting these pieces is one of my more lavish hobbies. And this year, I found me a supplier. Yes, being addicted to vintage Gucci is a little like being addicted to crack, I would imagine--possibly more expensive. A little leery at first since the purveyor of Gucci goods (@VintageGucciFinds on Instagram) lives in another state, but once I received my first product, I was completely SOLD! He guarantees authenticity, and his pieces are sublime.

He is a connoisseur of all things Gucci--a lover of the brand himself--and learns his clients quickly; he can now tell me exactly what I want. He's the equivalent of a Gucci concierge. I've purchased nothing but mint condition bags from him because he sells nothing but the best! And if the bag isn't already mint, he'll do his best to ensure the restoration embodies it. The proof is in the pudding. See for yourself:
My first purchase from my Gucci guy. . .this bag is older than I am.
No, really. It's like, 35.

Follow-up purchase. . .monogram top-handle with

My most recent purchase. . .
currently undergoing minor construction. . .
but should be shipping soon!
I can't wait to meet her!

{They're Here!}

You saw me gushing over these once here. Well.....THEY'VE ARRIVED!
I'm not a stickler for packaging as long as I like the product,
but I definitely was impressed with the VC aesthetic.
The hot pink interior of the box excited me so. :-)
I appreciated the thought that went into the packaging...
the outside of the box with the brand logo. She likes....
and now, a close-up of the shoes:
I loved the fact that they weren't as bulky as they originally seemed online.
They were feather-light. My feet did a little happy dance in their mind...
and now, for the inside of the shoe...
it's  interesting; though it's a graduated platform, it feels comfortable.
Not expected, but I like...it's almost like a heel hidden inside
the sneaker in order to give you a bit more height.

And finally, the sole...(sorry, hadn't removed the sizing sticker yet).
~
What do we think, ladies?...
PS-I also received a 20% off Thank You coupon for my next purchase!
Great way to keep me coming back!

:Let's Talk About Pep...lum:

So, I've been rockin' peplum since waaaaaay before the trend hit this year. I find it sexy, ultra-feminine, and flirty with just the right air of glamourousness; yet it's streamlined enough to wear to the office (and then to happy hour later without feeling stuffy!). Below are some recent looks utilizing peplum that I absolutely fell in love with. ...Seriously, what's not to like??

:Oops...I Did It Again.:

This is what I have on the brain today. I first saw them in Nine West when they debuted earlier in the summer and thought they were so sexy. But not for the exorbitant price they were charging at the time, lol...
Fast forward to now. Just ordered for $39...as opposed to the original price of $119, almost 3x what I paid. I also found a code for free shipping online, bringing my grand total to...wait for it...$40.95.

Me: 1; World: 0. Sales got nothing on your favorite glamour girl!

:Beautylicious Mondays:

My weekend was very eventful...
I got the opportunity to work on a new client! WHEEEEEE!!!
She needed to learn how to do her makeup for an upcoming event, and who better to consult than ya favorite glamour girl for a tutorial and a how-to session!
~
This is the look post-makeupping:
GOR-GEOUS!!! She adored and concurred.
~
I just LOVE providing my cosmetic services to women. It never ceases to amaze me how they cannot STOP looking at themselves in the mirror when I finish! :-D
Makes me very happy to know that I can bring that kind of joy to someone else's life!
~
After our session, you know me...I did some styling and posing...but of course...
Hint of a smile...but she is BEAMING on the inside, rest assured.

Final rendition...
Simply FIERCE. WERK!

...my friend Sadé found the complete look to be snazzy and jazzy!!
What do you think?
~
Do we love it...or do we LOVE IT?!?!

:Mad Men Monday, Anyone?:

Last night, a friend of mine who owns an event management company, ingeniousEVENTS, threw a Mad Men viewing party at Lounge 201, a spot in DC. ...So you know I was on my Joan steez...
I must admit, I'm enamored with her style and own quite a few outfits in the way of this seductive (but not overtly) silhouette that I've deemed "work wear". I just know what I look good in. Additionally, Joan has a way of being sultry, yet professional all at once, and I love it!
~PS...I got no one to take a picture of my outfit. *sad face*
Here are a couple images I did take, though...

My look...a classic red lip was only appropriate. Ruby Woo.
Yes, MAC finally got me with this one!
You can't really see the fake moles I applied,
but rest assured, they're present! My flash was a little too
aggressive on my camera phone...pardon the haziness.

Did my nails before the event. Bright red would have been better, I suppose,
but I just couldn't stifle the creativity in me.
Close-up.

I sipped on a cocktail customized for the event, the "Je m'appelle Betty".
~
I'll leave you with a few images of classic Joan...
Just...smokin'.

:DC Bloggers' Night Out:

Yesterday evening the DC edition of Bloggers' Night Out debuted at the beautiful Bloomingdale's store in Chevy Chase, Maryland...to rousing applause, might I add. It was certainly a hit! The night was sprinkled with sartorially-savvy divas, functional and fun furnishings and delectable hors d'oeuvres (oh and these cupcakes to die for), not to mention swag bags and raffles!! But don't believe me...see for yourself!
